EDUCATION AND CLINICAL EXPERIENCE
I received my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 1973. Part of my training included a one-year internship at the Sam Jackson Veterans Administration Hospital in Portland, Oregon, which ran a cooperative teaching program with the University of Oregon Medical School. After completing my internship, my first job was in teaching (described elsewhere). After that I was hired as a staff psychologist at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Massachusetts. I spent nearly ten years at Baystate, working at various times on the inpatient unit, the psychiatric emergency service, and the outpatient clinic. In 1985, I left Baystate to pursue a full-time private practice just across the river in West Springfield. I spent 29 years in Western Massachusetts, then moved to Suffield in November of 2014. |
